The following IPE simulation scenarios for faculty to use:
>Scenario #1 |

Description: Mr John Peters is a 59 year old first nation’s male who lives with his wife, one child, two grandchildren and his elderly parents in a remote area of a native reserve. He has been admitted to hospital for investigation of increasing shortness of breath. The students will be expected to perform appropriate assessment, communicate with one another and initiate appropriate treatment.

Description: Mr. Charles Anyim is a 58 year old male who experienced chest pain driving home from Florida. He was admitted to hospital to CCU stabilized and has since been transferred to cardiology. He is three days post MI.

Description: Jenny Pine is a 70 year old female who has a history of osteoarthritis for 20 years. She was admitted for a total hip replacement and is now three days post op. She recently developed difficulty breathing. She lives alone in an apartment. Her daughter is visiting.
>Scenario #4 |

Description: John Sim is a 40 year old post op patient who was presented in emergency three days ago with nausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain. Mr Sim was admitted and had abdominal surgery for a perforated gall bladder. When the nurse comes into the patients room she finds him slumped down in the bed. He seems anxious and is coughing. He has a history of asthma and uses puffers.
