Interprofessional Education is about health professional program students learning how to practice together effectively in collaborative teams, where all members of teams are respected for their knowledge and skills. The patient's (client's) views are solicited and valued within the team, resulting in improved communication and working relationships.

Student Associations

LIHSA is a group of enthusiastic students who are passionate about interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice (IPCP). They represent students from Western and Fanshawe College who are enrolled in, or are considering enrolling in, health-related programs.

The National Health Sciences Students' Association (NaHSSA) was created at the University of British Columbia in 2005. Now , the association has expanded beyond its headquarters and includes over 20 local chapters all around Canada

Preceptor Education Program

This open-access resource contains 8 interactive learning modules designed to assist health professionals and students to prepare for the clinical placement experience. Each module takes about 30 minutes to complete and is applicable to all professions providing clinical education. The modules include Interactive learning activities, quick tips, video clips, and downloads that can be modified to meet individual or practice setting needs.  They can be completed independently or collaboratively.  A certificate can be printed at the end of the module to record the education completed.  Module titles include: Developing Learning Objectives, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Clinical Reasoning and Reflective Practice, amongst others.
